Dance Fever is a male background Earth pony who appears in Hearts and Hooves Day and Slice of Life. He has a tan coat, two-tone brown mane, light blue eyes, and a cutie mark of a disco ball. He is unnamed in the show, but he is named in merchandise.

Design[]

Dance Fever has a handlebar mustache and chest hair, and he wears aviator sunglasses, a sparkling green collared shirt, and a brown belt with a golden belt buckle. He shares his body type with Prince Blueblood, "Hay Fever", "Persnickety", and "Bushel" and his color scheme with Dr. Hooves and Crescent Moon.

Dance Fever first appears in the season two episode Hearts and Hooves Day during The Perfect Stallion as the Cutie Mark Crusaders look for a special somepony for Cheerilee. Apple Bloom sings that he's "much too flashy" while he stands in front of a sunburst background.

In season five, Dance Fever appears in Slice of Life. DJ Pon-3 and Octavia Melody pick him, Button Mash, and Hughbert Jellius up on their way to Cranky Doodle Donkey and Matilda's wedding, and he watches the ceremony in Ponyville Town Hall.

Other depictions[]

Dance Fever, under the name "Flashy Pony", is a playable character in Gameloft's mobile game, added in the version 1.2 update on February 28, 2013. His in-game description states, "Flashy Pony is just that, with his handlebar mustache, sunglasses, and sparkling green shirt."

In Enterplay's collectible card game, Gen Con Indy 2013 demo card #13 names Dance Fever with a trademark symbol and attributes to him the quote "Some squares say my tunes aren't hip, but they just can't feel the funk. Let's boogie!" His α #40 C card lists the similar quote "Some squares say my tunes ain't hip. They just can't feel the funk. Let's boogie!" In the Equestrian Odysseys expansion set, #135 R card Rolling Tones attributes to him with a stuffy nose the quote "I wub this song!" In the High Magic expansion set, card #44 U of Dance Fever attributes to singing one of his favorite songs the quote "Disco filly, coming through! That filly is you! Ooh ooh! Ooh ooh!"
