I noticed that the Character appearances page was pretty large and having problems, so I thought I would come up with some solutions and see what everyone else thought:
- 1. Considering we have not upped the number of appearances since season three, I thought we could do just that and make the number higher. For a list of the characters and their appearance number, check here. A little over half of the secondary characters have appearance numbers less than 19 (respectively, with background appearances counted as half, that number is less than 14). I thought we could have the number of appearances be 20 overall, or three appearances per season they appeared (to also leave in characters like Silverstream that have only appeared in one season but have a good amount of appearances). Also, we could have background characters be 6-7 total actual appearances or 70 or so total background appearances. The final numbers can be debated and whether or not background appearances count as full appearances, but I thought I would suggest a starting number.
- 2. Alternatively, we could just have a link to the background character list on the page (since it's not a really important list compared to the others) and leave everything as it is. While this won't fix future problems, it will be what's pretty much already in place.
- 3. We could have the same layout as List of ponies. I'm not too familiar with how it works, so someone else would have to do it of course, but it was suggested by Imperfect in the comments.

- I sure hope this hasn't been the case for over a year and a half, but I fixed the problem. The page is now only just over half of the include size limit. (I reduced unnecessary code and converted some of the styling to site CSS to save space in the transcluded code.) ~Bobogoobo (talk)

Something else I thought about doing between writing this forum and now: instead of having headers for each season, how does using tabbers sound? I've been away for a while, so I don't exactly know what coding standards people are holding for this wiki currently, but it would save a lot of scrolling time.
