Forums: Index > Chat discussion > Closing chat moderator nominations for sometime

Hello all,

Since people seem to be in the mindset of "having too many mods" and therefore are opposing nominations with this reason, why not close the process for a while? This will resolve the issue of users being rejected due to this "too many mods" thing we have going on.

I personally do not want to close the nominations, but I'd rather see them closed than having nomination after nomination rejected due to this thing we got going on. So, this is a forum to decide if this should happen or not.

Symbol neutral vote Neutral I guess this could go either way, it depends on how long we were to close them for, however, there have been a few times recently where "too many mods" came into discussion. I can't really decide, might change soon if I feel the need. (Discord666 21:36, April 27, 2014 (UTC)) Changed opinion due to good points

Symbol support vote Support - Due to some points Callofduty4 pointed out in another forum, I think we should close nominations for a while. This will stop candidates from being rejected due to "having too many mods". 343TheGuiltyProphet - Talk 11:14, April 28, 2014 (UTC)

Symbol support vote Support - This seems like a reasonable course of action. TRIPLEJAY 11:17, April 28, 2014 (UTC)

Symbol strong support vote Strong support Please do, this will stop users from nominating people left and right and themselves just because they say they are mature because they are their friend or nominating themselves just because they have been here for 3 months for a while; a good temporary solutions.  http://i.imgur.com/1tsWYY6.png Filly Please  12:14, April 28, 2014 (UTC)

Probably when the need for more moderators occurs and users are more than entitled to make forums to have it reopened :) 343TheGuiltyProphet - Talk 11:51, April 28, 2014 (UTC)

Symbol support vote Support Right now we have enough mods to cover the entire 24 hours shift. We still have some times were there are no mods, but those are very few and in between. Maybe if we have a spike in popularity, then we can reopen the forum  UnknownProdigyhttp://i.imgur.com/OoYA0kr.gif 13:22, April 28, 2014 (UTC)

Symbol support vote Support Per your suggestion. We seem to have enough mods at the moment, and I hate to see candidates being judged with "there are enough mods" rather than "mindset and maturity". You've just been Klepto'd! (talk) 13:30, April 28, 2014 (UTC)

Symbol support vote Support This seems reasonable. Good users are being turned down due to the fact that we already have a more than adequate amount of mods.  AiP CM Rainbow Dash Appleboy2 talk http://fc02.deviantart.net/fs70/f/2011/117/3/4/rainbow_dash_by_blackgryph0n-d3e1auv.png 21:01, April 28, 2014 (UTC)

Symbol support vote Support I'd much rather that, if we are going to turn down people for "having too many mods", that we might as well nip it in the bud and close the entire forum down as suggested. It's one thing to reject people based on not having the right mindset, being kicked too many times, or other more understandable reasons, but suppose for a second a whole bunch of moderators go inactive. That's when we should reopen nominations Until that day comes, we're probably set for a very long time. I'm behind this idea all the way. If we need moderators again, I'll support reopening it, but half the oppositions of myself, and others becoming a mod were simply because we have too many. It simply isn't fair to potential candidates. No offense guys, but I'd rather we just closed the chat moderators forum until the need arises. Such as stated before, a exodus of moderators would be an ideal situation to reopen the forum. But for now, yeah... we probably should consider closing it. I'll respect your decision either way. -Crimson "Valent" Azure (15:02, April 28, 2014 (PST))

Symbol support vote Support There's been too many nominations for mod status over the past weeks. The nomination forum needs to take a break. http://i.imgur.com/XYBgt.gif GG get rekt u scrub --Professor Pickles (talk) 07:01, April 30, 2014 (UTC)

Symbol support vote Support Per the support. If we continue letting this crowded group of mods grow, then being one will start to mean nothing. Just because you can be one, doesn't mean you should or need to. http://fc09.deviantart.net/fs70/f/2012/274/6/d/6d9b956b91e0c92565e2a90a818bee37-d5gij3r.gifAppleJon-Talk 17:39, April 30, 2014 (UTC)
