Chat Moderators at night[]

Although currently we have chat moderator applications closed, I'd like for us to host a special nomination, where we look for a week or two at users who are consistently active at the graveyard shift ( 4AM UTC - 12Am UTC), and then list these users here. While they may not be the most ideal for modship, it's obvious that we need to solve the issue. In addition, Haed's recommendation that we have more graveyard shift mods Passed without a single oppose, and we have not found any new moderators for that timeslot (In fact, some consider it to have FAILED because a mod that is not even active [ever] at that time of day was turned down!).
What I purpose is this: All users during the graveyard shift spend the next 2 weeks looking at who is most mature and active during that time. Take into account weekdays and weekends (as some of us stay up later on weekends), and from this deduce 2 or 3 candidates to pick from (how many are picked, could be 0, could be all 3.) After these Candidates have passed this board of review, re-open moderator applications for them to post one in the proper area.
(For the record, while I'd like everyone's opinion, I'd like the focus of this to be done by those active in the graveyard shift, Because obviously someone who is never around during that time will have a hard time figuring out if someone is active or not.)

TL;DR This Board is not for the discussion of choosing a user to give moderator rights, and is not official or final, but rather is a way for us to solve our lack of moderators during the graveyard shift by cooperating to form a possible solution to present to the rest of the wiki.

What do you guys think? (specifically, the gravetime chatters.)

Pictogram voting comment Comment We don't need an overly huge amount of mods at that time - actually it seems that we need them more from about 7/8AM UTC - 12AM UTC, because 4AM UTC is still just 11:00PM EST, so most of the American mods still are able to be there at a reasonable time for them. During the time of the "old system," we were DYING for mods at gravetime (it's how I gained my mod rights in the first place), but now we have about 2 to 3 who regularly remain for a while into that time. And also, chat is so dead that it is not impertinent to have as many mods as we do in the UTC daytime. http://fc09.deviantart.net/fs70/f/2012/274/6/d/6d9b956b91e0c92565e2a90a818bee37-d5gij3r.gifAppleJon-Talk 02:10, January 10, 2013 (UTC)
Pictogram voting comment Comment However Jon, if all of our mods are away it won't matter, if something /does/ happen, no one is there, and it can take a few minutes or longer to get someone there. Also, about the mornings, unless my work times get changed on me, I can't help personally, and most of the graveyarders are asleep anyway.

I'm here in the US Central Morning hours when IX is the only mod and I was still denied modship. According to most users I'm a good candidate but it doesn't matter how good the candidate is, the candidate will still be shredded by the "too many mods" naive thought. Can we please let this go? Yes, we get that your nomination failed, but there is no reason to include the entire story about how you had a mod nomination and it failed in every single message that you leave on this forum.  Food 25px-Surprise.png  21:40, January 11, 2013 (UTC)

Pictogram voting comment Comment IDK, I mean, we have far too many mods as it is, per the successful nomination to close it and it's obvious in chat too at most times. -- Ozuzanna (Talk) 21:42, January 11, 2013 (UTC)

Pictogram voting comment Comment I agree with this, but we would need European or Asian people to fill the slots, we should do some inventory and stuff to select people.  OC.gifForce talk CM.png 04:11, January 14, 2013 (UTC)
