As per the credits for Rainbow Falls - Matt Hill as Soarin', I propose moving the page as such, as it currently doesn't have the apostrophe. All merchandise previously identifies him without the punctuation.

If the credits says it, then I Symbol support vote Support.  Sunset_Shimmer_happy.png Golden Bluebird Sunset_Shimmer_cutie_mark.png 18:42, January 18, 2014 (UTC)
Here is the previous discussion which resulted in the current naming. I don't trust the credits (a cast member's name is misspelled in the same sheet), whereas the merchandise is clear. I wouldn't move it at this time. ~Bobogoobo (talk) 40?cb=20120702121758 01:15, January 19, 2014 (UTC)
Per Bobo, I don't think the credits are a reliable enough to use as the source for spelling of ponies' names, so I Symbol oppose vote Oppose the move.-- Undisguised_Nyx_by_AibotNya.pngJonny Manztalkcontribse-mailedit count 06:01, January 20, 2014 (UTC)Disguised_Nyx_by_AibotNya.png
Symbol support vote Support: Credits are more reliable than merchandise. A spelling error can happen, but they would not include an apostrophe for no reason. Gulomi Jomesh (talk) 15:00, January 20, 2014 (UTC)
Credits' use of "Soarin'" instead of "Soarin" is presumably because the credits didn't get updated from the original spelling of Soarin's name (similarly to how Princess Cadance's original name spelling "Princess Cadence" got left in the credits of The Crystal Empire - Part 1 and The Crystal Empire - Part 2 before Games Ponies Play, My Little Pony Equestria Girls, and Three's A Crowd). Symbol oppose vote Oppose I agree with Jonny Manz. Credits, as have been shown many times on TV shows, are prone to error. The name "Soarin" without punctuation has been used several times in merchandise. Please make it clear what the outcome is, because Soarin's article is currently a mix of both names.--KleptoBrony (talk) 16:07, January 20, 2014 (UTC)
Pictogram voting comment Comment The name "Soarin'" has been used with punctuation several times as well, including by Amy Keating Rogers herself. ImperfectXIII Wiki signature FANMADE ImperfectXIII OC pixel animation 16:56, January 20, 2014 (UTC)
Symbol support vote Support - See what ImperfectXIII said; Amy Keating Rogers was the one who created this character, and she first spelled his name "Soarin'". Soarin' signifies an abbreviation of "Soaring". "Soarin", with no apostrophe, isn't really proper and it's the result of someone not wanting to include any punctuation in whatever they're typing. It's the easier way to do things in the $$$ profit world of merchandise and toys. Creative minds like writer Mrs. Rogers include the apostrophe because it's just right. I made the same point in the previous forum, but that's not what we take into consideration for names. It only matters how the name is represented. ~Bobogoobo (talk) 40?cb=20120702121758 01:41, January 21, 2014 (UTC)
Yeah, as (I believe) 764 brought up in the previous discussion, merchandise takes higher precedence over the word of crew (or else Dr. Hooves would still be Doctor Whooves, as Jayson stated in that AMA on reddit way back when that the two names the crew was using for specific bg ponies were that and Derpy Hooves).-- Undisguised_Nyx_by_AibotNya.pngJonny Manztalkcontribse-mailedit count 06:34, January 21, 2014 (UTC)Disguised_Nyx_by_AibotNya.png
The next time Soarin' appears in an episode, Matt Hill will get another credit, and it will probably be Soarin'. Dogman15 (talk) 05:43, January 21, 2014 (UTC)
Well, if that credit sheet doesn't contain any misspellings of the voice actors' names, I'll probably be more inclined to trust it as reliable (and would probably agree to a move at that point).-- Undisguised_Nyx_by_AibotNya.pngJonny Manztalkcontribse-mailedit count 06:34, January 21, 2014 (UTC)Disguised_Nyx_by_AibotNya.png
The third trade paperback comic form IDW also uses Soarin’. That can't all be typos. Gulomi Jomesh (talk) 16:23, January 21, 2014 (UTC)
The comics are second party merchandise, so they're of a lower precedence than the toys, which are first party merchandise from Hasbro themselves.-- Undisguised_Nyx_by_AibotNya.pngJonny Manztalkcontribse-mailedit count 02:39, January 24, 2014 (UTC)Disguised_Nyx_by_AibotNya.png
See? Hasbro changed their minds and now want Soarin' to be the official spelling! They're using it in official material (show and books) over the toys, and we all know how poor communication is with their toy department. I bet you any future merchandise with Soarin' will have the apostrophe. Dogman15 (talk) 03:35, January 23, 2014 (UTC)
Are the books first party merchandise, or does Hasbro grant the My Little Pony license to some publishing company? I'm pretty sure it's the latter. Also, I still think that the "Soarin" spelling is used more consistently across all official material, too (as of this moment, but I'm not sure). If only 764 were still here to gather all the sources, and note which spells it what way. -- Undisguised_Nyx_by_AibotNya.pngJonny Manztalkcontribse-mailedit count 02:39, January 24, 2014 (UTC)Disguised_Nyx_by_AibotNya.png
Sources gathered over the course of the past three months (list is missing some closed captions and Lauren Faust's reply to this):
Symbol oppose vote oversat Strongly oppose moving the Soarin article back to Soarin'; "Soarin" is the spelling used by Hasbro in first-party merchandise, and out of the two spellings that have been listed with a trademark symbol, the trademark symbol on "Soarin" is unambiguously for the name while the trademark symbol on "Spitfire & Soarin'" doesn't specify whether it's for all or just the second name of that name-&-name title (also, another trading card from the same series as that trading card listed Big McIntosh as "Big Macintosh" with a trademark symbol).
