- Return to Flash Magnus
Like all the Pillars of Old Equestria, the situation of Flash Magnus is one that has me intrigued. Like his comrades, he hasn't appeared since Shadow Play - Part 2, and he's in the situation of being an ordinary pony stuck 1000 years past his own time. Unlike his fellows, however, Flash Magnus has been mentioned in a new piece of media since those episodes: in Beyond Equestria: Rainbow Dash Rights the Ship, it is stated that his shield Netitus is now in the museum at Cloudsdale. This makes me wonder if he might not be living in Cloudsdale now, though what he's up to with no Royal Legion is anyone's guess.
Now, as I see it, there are at least three potential situations in which Flash Magnus might reappear in the series. First, some upcoming threat to Equestria-whether from Chrysalis, Tirek, Chancellor Neighsay, or some other returning/debuting villain-could be bad enough for the Pillars to team up with the Mane 6 again. Secondly, an episode could be done in which somepony-most likely Rainbow Dash-finds him struggling to find his place in modern Equestria and tries to help him out. Thirdly, there's the chance his old enemy Torch could find out that he's back.
This last idea strikes me as one with some interesting potential for conflict. Sure, the dragons are supposed to be at peace with the ponies now that Ember's in charge, but not all the dragons are happy about it and I could see Torch being one of them. For that matter, I could see Torch remembering his loss to Flash and his comrades bitterly, and perhaps consoling himself with the thought that his enemy is long dead-only to become enraged when it turns out Flash has returned. If Torch is "downright evil" as his Elements of Harmony Vol. II description states, things could get dicey. Of course, only time will tell whether any of these developments will occur and bring Flash Magnus back into the spotlight for an episode or two.--Kilmarnock228 (talk) 03:33, June 1, 2018 (UTC)
