- Return to To Change a Changeling
Intriguing-I had suspected that not all of the Changelings would have reformed, and it looks like this is the case. Makes you wonder what Pharynx's deal was: was he one of the Changelings sent to replace one of the Mane 6, Spike, or the various captured royals? Was he out on some other mission for Chrysalis when the big change happened? Or was he present but simply refused to go along with it?--Voltron23 (talk) 09:03, May 29, 2017 (UTC)
I was also thinking that Pharynx might be one of the changelings that Chrysalis sent to replace the Mane 6 and Royal Family and became unaware what was going on at the Changeling Kingdom. (CosmoStar24 (talk) 13:07, May 29, 2017 (UTC))
- That does seem the most likely option-makes you wonder if his comrades in that mission have also not transformed. Sounds to be quite the interesting episode-I could see Pharynx being the ultimate loyal subject of Chrysalis who looks at his brother as being the lowest of traitors: not only did Thorax leave the hive in the first place, now he's come back and "corrupted" the Changelings and deposed their queen.--Voltron23 (talk) 19:15, May 30, 2017 (UTC)

Well, now that the episode has aired, it makes it look as though Pharynx must either have impersonated one of the two sisters or one of the Crystal Empire royals, or else may have been part of the squad that brought the kidnapped ponies back to the hive-assuming he was involved in the operation at all. I would guess that the other renegades may well have been involved, but I doubt we'll ever get any official confirmation. I must say, I think Pharynx is now my favorite reformed changeling, his design is an awesome blend of the classic and revamped Changeling designs. I must say, I am curious as to why he was so different from the standard changelings-more so even than Thorax-and why it is that only he and Thorax now have the orange antler dealies. I must say, I'm glad that Starlight and Trixie's visit was on their own initiative-the Cutie Map sending Trixie anywhere seems a bit of a stretch.--Kilmarnock228 (talk) 08:15, September 4, 2017 (UTC)
