Now that Big Macintosh has had his name spelled inconsistently even within the toys, I figured it'd be useful to have a list of how many times which spellings have been used by who (like what Forum:Cadence or Cadance? was for Princess Cadance). 64.118.115.104 00:11, June 3, 2012 (UTC)

(The sources seem to spell his nickname as "Big Mac" no matter how they spell his full name, so I didn't bother including the nickname in the list.) 64.118.115.104 00:11, June 3, 2012 (UTC)

Currently, I'd recommend sticking with "Big Macintosh" since it seems to be the majority (the list isn't complete; it's at least missing one or two Hub summaries of Hearts and Hooves Day) in multiple ways: out of all the sources, out of all the non-WeLoveFine sources, out of all the Hasbro sources, and (since the mystery pack ponies' names are printed on their boxes, on their bags, and on their collector cards) out of just the toy line sources. 64.118.115.104 00:11, June 3, 2012 (UTC)
- I agree. Since most of the fanbase knows that the correct spelling is 'Big Macintosh' (correct me if I'm wrong).

Cadance 's name was spelled as "Cadence" in her Mistery Pack Collector Card, while it was spelled as "Cadance" in her main toy set, as well as in the majority of the reliable sources. And her name is spelled as "Cadance" again in those new miniatures. Lauren Faust always spells Big Mac's name as "McIntosh". And his name was "Macintosh" in the Mistery Pack Collector Card, but it's "McIntosh" in the new miniatures. I think Faust knows best about the characters' names, and apparently the formerly-mispelled names are fixed in those new miniatures, so we should go with "McIntosh", in my opinion. Oh! And the name of the guy who discovered that apple variety was John McIntosh, thus the correct name of the apple is "McIntosh Red" (colloquially, "the Mac"). Flippy Bear 18:24, June 3, 2012 (UTC)
Overall, the spelling of "Big Macintosh" is the one most officially used by companies and Hasbro. For now, leave it as Big Macintosh. If in the future more toys are made and spelled as "McIntosh", then an admin will change it to fit the requirements.
