Trevor Devall is a voice actor in My Little Pony Friendship is Magic. His most prominent roles in the series include Fancy Pants and Iron Will.
Devall is cast as various incidental characters in the series due to his wide range of voices and accents.[1] In his portrayal of Hoity Toity, Devall did an impression of the Gilligan's Island character Thurston Howell.[2] During his audition for Fancy Pants, Devall was instructed to do an impression of John Cleese.[3] For Iron Will, Devall has described his portrayal as "an impression of Paul Dobson doing an impression of Jesse Ventura" with some elements of Mr. T as well.[4]
Devall has stated in a 2013 interview that his voice recordings as Iron Will are digitally altered to make them deeper.[5]
For his portrayal of Fancy Pants, Devall was nominated for a UBCP/ACTRA award for "Best Voice" in 2012, which he lost to Andrea Libman.[6]
Outside My Little Pony, Devall has provided voices for characters in numerous animated series and films, including Pyro in X-Men: Evolution, Mu La Flaga in Mobile Suit Gundam SEED, Dukey in Johnny Test, Hades in Class of the Titans, Burt Burtonburger in Kid vs. Kat, Colossus in Astonishing X-Men, Cyclops and Captain America in Marvel Knights: Wolverine vs. Sabretooth, Rocket Raccoon in Guardians of the Galaxy, Garby and Skrap-It in the Netflix original animated series Dinotrux, and various supporting roles in Inuyasha, Transformers Energon, Black Lagoon, and the Lego Star Wars animated series.
In live-action, Devall has had guest roles in First Wave, Level 9, and Big Time Movie. He also provided voices for characters in Stargate SG-1 and Stargate Atlantis.
On Devall's official website, he has his own podcast called Voiceprint with Trevor Devall & Guests, on which he interviews fellow Vancouver-based voice actors and actresses and answers fan questions.
Devall currently resides in Los Angeles, California.
