Hello again. This is the Koopa Bros (Creeperfan). As you may know, the next round of MLP : SWG will come in after the Super Bowl in case your interested in people fighting each other. But that's not the point here. Today, I'm comparing the amiibo issue to the Canterlot Boutique episode. So let's summarize these two stories.

Canterlot Boutique is about Rarity and her new boutique in Canterlot. Rarity shows off her collection, but when Sassy Saddle, Rarity's own manager in the boutique, goes way over the round with the "Princess Dress", Rarity is tired of her, and wants to end the boutique. Fortunately, she finally found what she been dreaming of, and Sassy apologizes saying to follow Rarity's rules.

Now onto the amiibo story. Back in late 2014, 3 amiibos: Villager, Marth, and Wii Fit Trainer, were offically dubbed the "Holy Trinity". What does this have to do with the amiibo story? A lot! Most scalper sold these for a whooping $100. And that's a huge issue. Amiibos are tied to stock issues, rarity, and scalpers. Other amiibo weren't lucky. Ness, Rosalina & Luma, Meta Knight, Palutena, and other amiibos sold out and cannot be found unless online. Older amiibos, like Kirby and Samus have not been in stock for a very long time. The only common amiibos are Peach, Pikachu, Wave 6, 7, and 8 amiibos, the Super Mario amiibos, the Animal Crossing amiibos, and the Woolly World amiibos. It's very tired to see the same amiibo all over again, and when that happens, most collectors give up and move to another fad. Boo-woo.

What does this have to do with the Canterlot Boutique? It had to do with 3 reasons. Let's compare:

  • Rarity is making plenty of "Princess Dresses" instead of her own unique dresses. Compare that to amiibos, and you can only find common amiibos like Zero Suit Samus and Olimar, instead of a Rosalina & Luna amiibo.
  • Rarity tries to vary the dress a bit with gems, but when she hand it to one customer, she hates it and want it the normal way. Amiibo collector want it like that, but if they got scammed, guess what? They hate it, and want the amiibo they want, but sadly, that scammer ran away with that money tp buy more.
  • Rarity is tired and wants to end her dream boutique due to the terible, lackluster, and common "Princess Dreeses". And that is the big point. Amiibo collector somewhat are tired of seeing the same amiibos. And to be fair, they want all the amiibo, and if they didn't, they would move to another fad.

So that's the biting point. Canterlot Boutique, however, is meant to teach a lesson that making the same product will become terrible. But if you add amiibo to it, it actually make more sense than ever. So there we got. Easy to say, it's comparable. Don't get me started. This is the Koopa Bros signing out. Goodbye.
