Well, guys, I wish I could make a much happier New Year blog, but right now, I have to post something a little more serious. You see, the Brony reviewer, Thespio, aka DaWillstonator, just recently posted a video, making a rather heartbreaking announcement. I'll post the video here, but long story short, just shortly after Finn the Pony posted the most heartfelt addition to his 12 Doors of Finnsmas, and just two days after Christmas day, his mother's long, hard battle with cancer has come to a tragic end, which means that Thespio and his family are most likely having a hard New Years. I hope they do take comfort that she was able to enjoy one last Christmas before her departure, but to have this happen just shortly after this wonderful holdi…Read more >
Some ponies went to sea, sea, sea,
To see what they could see, see, see,
But all that they could see, see, see,
Was the viewpoints only they could see, see, see
Well, this was a fun episode! I think this episode probably gave Applegeek the second most epic laugh of the season (first was for On Your Marks), which would explain why he called it his favorite. While I disagree with him, I definately like what was presented. Now, this is, admittedly, an overused moral that we all saw coming from a mile away, but it's one that we never can seem to learn, as those kinds of conflicts happen all the time in real life. Basically, these can be summed up with one sentence: "This person made me mad, so I'm not going to listen to their side of the story and …

Okay, now I can post my thoughts. Throughout season 6, I've been pretty disappointed with the CMC episodes, especially since it's typically those types of episodes that I pick as my favorites. I've also found that, starting with season 3, I've been able to pick out my favorite episode when the season is only a few episodes in, even if I ended up changing my mind further down the line (this happened in season 5), so when that didn't happen for this season, that kinda downed my hype on the rest of the season, leaving me to rank it with season 1. However, this episode was a great boost to my spirits.
I was quite surprised to see that the CMC were already celebrities in their community; guess that song was more true than we thought! I was glad …Read more >
Okay, so maybe this episode would've been better off with two parts, as it seemed like the time constraint kinda turned it into a pressed sandwich. I mean, seriously, when I think of the writers for this, I think of them starting off saying "Yeah, I think we've got ourselves and episode!" and once they found out that they're over the time limit, they drove themselves mad trying to squish it into the slot: "Okay, okay, okay! So get rid of that, get rid of that, get that out of there-- Oh, no, no, no! We need that in there! That's extremely important! No, that's even more important! AAH! We forgot to give Spike a song that the fandom wants! Quick, somebody find a place for a song! AAH! No, we've got to leave time for that! AAH!" Okay, maybe …Read more >
This is a fanfic that I came up with. It was inspired by an episode of an old show called Bravestarr (thank you, Silver Quill, for the introduction of the show, even if it wasn't the same episode), which has a shock value that I really apprieciated when I saw it. This episode, called The Price, involves a character who got addicted to a fictional drug, and put his friend through some difficult times, including a hard decision, and I think the ending really hit a home run when it comes to conveying an important message to kids. While this isn't follow that episode completely, I think you might get the idea of what happens here. So here it is: A Price Paid.
It was a sunny day in Ponyville as three young fillies, Apple Bloom, Sweetie Belle, and …
