100th Background Appearance - Lyra Heartstrings
Well, I thought this pony would ever make her one hundredth appearance, especially since her best friend made it first. Thank you Yakity-Sax. Lyra Heartstrings is never anywhere without somepony with her.
Among one of the first background ponies in the series, Lyra eventually is given some mini developments of her own such as being one of Twilight's old friends from Celeatia's School for Gifted Unicorns in Canterlot or being a possessed flower girl at a wedding, and even being a part-time secret agent. She typically travels back and from Canterlot and Ponyville which would explain her presence at many events throughout the series.

Queen Chrysalis in The Mean 6
After watching The Mean 6 a second time, I think I understand what Michael Vogel and the writers were trying to prove with her character.
Initially, I was disappointed that the episode went in a different direction than presented in the animatic preview released earlier this year. Queen Chrysalis has always been one of the most threatening villains in the MLP: FIM franchise and was always seen in two-part episodes. And she always seemed to capture her enemies fairly easy and quite inexplicably, but here, we finally see how low she has gone when her hive turned against her.

I thought I’d save the head honcho for last. Meghan McCarthy went above and beyond to fill in Lauren Faust’s shoes after her departure, and it paid off.
McCarthy had worked as head writer for shows like Fish Hooks, Class of 3000, and Foster’s Home for Imaginary Friends where she met Faust. Faust invited McCarthy along with others to write for the My Little Pony revival at the time when the latter was trying figure out her path as a writer. McCarthy accepted due to Faust's dedication to the project.
