In recent years, a majority of movies supposed to be "suitable for children" actually got a PG (13+) by the Movie and Television Review and Classification Board of the Philippines, where children below 13 years old must be accompanied by a parent or supervising adult. This even includes movies that were rated "U" in the UK.

Examples include:

  • Big Hero 6
  • Inside Out
  • Minions
  • The Good Dinosaur
  • Norm of the North
  • Zootopia
  • The Angry Birds Movie
  • Ice Age: Collision Course
  • Sing
  • Despicable Me 3
  • Cars 3 (until it got re-rated G on appeal)

UPDATE 8/2/2017: Since the movie only got rated PG in the U.S. for "mild action", it'll probably get a G rating by the MTRCB by now. Thus, I have decided to delete everything below this line. I will, however, keep this blog open until the film gets that rating.
