Heeeeyyyy, Ponyville! It's Meester Tweester! I have a lot of news to cover, like a special gift for 1,000 edits, Pony Voting release and update news, and signups for a fanfiction tournament. Let's begin! Template:Userpage/MPC (Music credit: Catgroove by Parov Stelar)

1,000 edits special

Thank you for being such a great wiki, it seems like I just want to be coming back for more every day. It looks like I started just two months after I started watching MLP (approx. late November 2012). My first edit was on January 17, 2013 to the Statistics page: "*Rainbow Dash is the only pony that can annd has done a sonic rainboom." The curse of the typos apparently started right at the start. Almost everything went to the animation errors, statistics, and allusion pages until I went offline from Feb. 24th to Apr. 10th. I greeted my return by saying "Hello" to Rallinale. I think that started my 60 day streak, which ended this summer.

And now for the story of how Pony Voting started. I noticed that at least 20 people were on chat at all times, so I decided to give it a shot. I have to admit I didn't like it. Even though I read the chat rules page thoroughly, I got kicked at least two times. I was bored, so I said "You must save either ____ or ____ from the horrible GAK! Vote on which one should be saved!" Only one or two people voted, but most of the time people didn't like interruptions and ignored it. Eventually, it was considered as spam, which caused me to get kicked yet again. I tried to have one more go at it, but unfortunately I joined in while a gun argument was going on. I tried to convince them that they should stop talking about violence and change the subject to something else (Maybe ponies? It's the whole reason I came here), but that also got ignored. That was my sign to stop chatting, and I haven't been on chat ever since.

So how the heck is that Pony Voting? (If you have no idea what Pony Voting is, or don't read it, check it out by clicking "User blog:Meester Tweester" at the top of the page) After thinking for a while about background ponies, I wondered if the fandom was truly unanimously favoring Derpy, or gave other background ponies TLC, too. Scrolling down the Characters page, there was a gallery of 46 background ponies. I commented:

Everybody vote for your Top 5 favorite background ponies! Most votes win.

Mine:

  • 1.Derpy
  • 2.Octavia
  • 3.Vinyl/DJ Pon3
  • 4.Wild Fire
  • 5.Dizzy Twister

Vote for five of the 46 above! Voting ends in one week, I guess.

This would be the first sign of Pony Voting, or Pony Voting 0. It was a just a comment, not a blog post. It generated seven ballots, nowhere near the twenty that the average Pony Voting gets. I was still proud, since most comments don't get six replies in a week. While I intended to just copy and paste the gallery to the blog post, I found out you could edit the gallery to take out and pictures. Over time, I mastered how to add my own pictured and captions, change the size, change the alignment (which is always centered) change the background color, add a caption, change the title, and I think that's the end of my list.

So back to Pony Voting 1. All seven of the ballots were from Wikia contributors (aka anons), so most of the votes were jokes. From a maximum 35 votes, only 30 votes were casted, and seven of them were jokes, so only 23 votes were casted. It was so short, just two votes got you a bronze medal! If that was the case for Pony Voting 5, fourteen of the seventeen songs would get medals. (Boring!) These numbers are midget-sized compared to today's Pony Votings, so I feel confident for future installments.

I think that's it. Over many installments, I added riddles, shout-out recommended characters, and music to Pony Voting. The addition of Derpy and Discord to the cast started in Pony Voting 4, [SPOILER ALERT] when they made it to the final two and I was revealed to actually be Queen Chrysalis, who ran away with the power of the gold medal. Pinkie Pie, Discord, and Derpy were left hosting Pony Voting 5, with me returning at the end. [Spoilers end] The three will have a segment all to themselves right before the medal winners are revealed in Pony Voting 6, since their conversations were well received in the comments section.

If I could credit just one user before and during the time Pony Voting was developing, I'd say Magic love. I feel we had a lot of personal talks that meant a bunch to me, and just being there when I needed company. Go visit her page, since her drawings are awesome.

That brings us to the present day, where posting this blog is my 1,000th edit! My 1,000 edit special will be 1,000 hugs! Ready, set, go!

And we're back! Did you enjoy your 1,000 hugs? And one bug? If you liked it, enjoy your hugs! If you feel cheated out of an 1,000th edit special, we have another prize. I present to you Pony Voting 5, without Discord! If you think Discord is annoying or should keep his mouth shut, we edited out every time he speaks or is mentioned. It also cuts it down by two pages, so you can speed-read it faster. We won't keep you waiting for the substitute special, so here we go:

Flim: Oh, cool! Cake! Please buy them. In fact, they're free! Too bad that they are only confined to the fictional world.

Flam: But we do sell them in the imaginary, nonexistent, and invisible varieties! PLEASE BUY THEM. We seriously have too many of these.

Flim: This box is one of thousands. We ordered 22, but a Parasprite punched in a few extra zeros. We now have 220,000 cakes. PLEASE BUY THEM!

Mrs. Cake you're serious right S2E13

Here are two Cakes.

Rates:

Fictional-free

Imaginary-An order for 10 fictional cakes

Nonexistent-An order for 10 imaginary cakes

Invisible-An order for 10 nonexistent cakes

Flam: If you vote, you get the honor of eating a cake of the previously stated varieties of your choice!

Flim: If you want a cake, type "I want a cake" along with your ballot! You also get a free magazine called "Equestria Daily," but who cares about that? Get your free cake today!

Flam: We also have this metal backscratcher. It sells for negative 1,000 fictional cakes. It is very relaxing, but it might scratch your skin off. It's kind of sharp at the end, but it has a cool loopy-bendy handle! Nobody can resist that!

Flim: Order one now, and you'll receive 1,000 fictional cakes free of charge! Then you can scratch off your skin with cakes while munching on a thousand metal backscratchers! Yum!

Flam: Also, enter our lottery tonight! The winners get 100 nonexistent cakes. And everyone's a winner, no matter how hard they lose! Seriously, that's just not for sportsmanship- EVERYONE'S A WINNER!

Flim: You can have the thrilling experience of beating the near-impossible odds: one to one, while munching on your 100 metal backscratcher prize.

Flam: Hey, wait... that's not such a bad idea. OHN NOM NOM NOM...

Epilogue: Flam went to the emergency room for metal indigestion. But he returned to the moon the next day for continuity's sake. Flim remained unfazed and continued to sell thousands of cakes to the hungry villains trapped on the moon.

20 Votes (Gold Medal):

Seriously, was there even any doubt? 20 out of 22 ponies voted for it! While most Pinkie Pie songs are short and random, this one spans over three minutes! This song has a great lesson: to smile every day, even of you don't feel like it. One anon even made this their only vote, saying that "I don't care for the others very much." This song has definitely earned its gold medal, so here it is! (flings medal)

11 Votes (Silver Medal):

Let's not for get the Laughter Song, which reminds everypony to laugh along with their smiling! (flings medal)

The Smile Song will also earn its place in the Hall of Fame!

HALL OF FAME:

Doctor Whooves a riddle for you guys. If you don't know the reward by now, you need to wake up. You will get a shout-out if you answer it correctly first:

Either this Mane Six-er or this secondary character appears in every episode except for Putting Your Hoof Down (the worst episode). Who are the two lucky ponies?

So that wraps it up for Pony Voting 5. But what are the candidates for Pony Voting 6? You will have to find a pet. Rainbow Dash needs your help, so vote for five of the 16 pets mentioned in this song, plus the ducks and the tortoise that competed in Rainbow Dash's competition.

Rules: You get five votes for five pets. Meester Tweester owns the right to mention your user by name, however, if you would like to be anonymous, please tell us in your ballot.

Please, please, please vote! The faster we get a ton of comments, the faster it gets onto the "Popular Blog Posts" bar, where everypony can see it! I really appreciate your support, and every single comment counts! Voting ends June 30th at midnight UTC time. You get two weeks, because I will be at a camp in the great outdoors for the entire second week. Sorry, I promise Pony Voting will be as weekly as possible after this!

While you are waiting, why don't you recommend a character, shout-out, or feature right here? So, Pony Voting 6 will be up and running July 3rd if everything goes well. This has been Meester Tweester, and goodnight Ponyville!

Pony Voting Updates

...Except that you shouldn't vote, since it won't count. Voting ended a month ago.

I'm here to tell you that Pony Voting isn't cancelled, abandoned, or dead. Yes, I haven't been updating for over a month. The explanation is we get to leave our tiny city every summer to visit America and catch up with everything we missed, including eating at restaurants and looking at tourist attractions I haven't been to in years. The thing is, when I feel lonely or homesick overseas, I can look back at these memories to cheer me up.

So that means I haven't had a whole lot of time to write and catch up with stuff on the wiki. I didn't even have Wifi for a third of that month. It is almost finished, but I have to compile recommended characters and check up with a few people with a section I have doubts about.

It could be released anytime from tomorrow or a week from now. For a specific date, I would estimate August 1st. Seems like a nice, clean date, huh? I'm trying to work out a schedule for future installments. The best I can figure is a one-week voting period and three days to write it. During the first week, I'll have a lot of time to tally votes, draw recommended characters, and write non-voting stuff. The last three days will be writing the rest of it (the voting results), which I can do in three sittings, one for each day. I hope that means Pony Voting will be on a ten-day cycle, which would mean no more delays! Now just sit and wait to see how it works out.

What if I am really bored and there are no parties to go to and no sport games to play and no places to go which will make some extra time in that one-week period? I could talk about more the show! I have a lot of theories that would like to be shared, along with episode reviews and top 10 lists. I could even show you how-to's I've learned, like making an OC, imitating voices, or make a mini-gallery. It's just another step closer to sounding more like a radio show.

Most of all, I would like to thank you guys, for having an extensive amount of patience. Not one person has complained about the delay, no lie. Instead, they are saying "I can't wait" or "I am excited for the next issue!" On other series, like YouTube animations, at least 10% complain if there is a big delay. In fact, one is being split into five parts, starting on January 1st, 2013 and finally going to end the first day of August. Man, the fans were steamed. I even considered to split Pony Voting 6 into "6a" and "6b", but after thinking it over for a while, I'm deciding to prevent cliffhangers and release it all at once.

Time for previews! Three randomly generated episodes up for voting are Sonic Rainboom, Swarm of the Century and Luna Eclipsed. There are more, but you'll just have to wait to know the rest. Maybe you could guess what they have in common. One randomly generated answer to the riddle is Rose, but there are seven in Total.

Again, thank you for your patience, and expect Pony Voting 6 to be released approximately August 1st, 2013 EDIT 08/02/13: Pony Voting 6 is out!

Fanfiction Tournament Signups

I am curious to see how good this wiki is with writing. Test out your skills at the Fanfiction Tournament! If I can get at least eight competitors, that would be great!

Oh yeah, rules? Seriously? Rules are boring. But fine, let's get through this.

1. Maturity We aren't ready for gorefics and clopfics just yet, so be sensible. But band-aid sized cuts and shipping are allowed.
2. Confidentiality All entries must be anonymous, which sadly means you can't put your OC or name in your fanfic. The author will also be anonymous until the results are calculated.
3. Time Limit Submission periods are one week long, followed by a one week voting period. The blog will then be posted with results and topics for the next fanfic.
4. Length Word count range is 100 to 2,000. Anything less than 100 isn't worth our time, and over 2,000 would be overdoing yourself.
5. Focus Your fanfic must incorporate the topic one way or another.

So, if I can get at least eight competitors to sign up, we have a tournament! If we get less than that, that's okay, but we'll need to bend the rules. I am counting on all of you fans out there to contribute to how much you like the show! All it takes is a few hours, come on!

Twice a month, all the fanfics will be compiled into one blog post, and the readers and the writers will vote which are the best of the litter! But beware, if yours is the worst, you could get kicked out of the tournament. One by one, people will leave, until one solitary writer triumphs them all! Don't worry if you are eliminated, because there will be a few rejoining ceremonies where you can be voted back in the game! Sound good?

Oh, the final prize? Bragging rights, of course. You can even put it on your signature if you win! I will also give you a 1,000 word fanfic and an illustration of whatever you choose. Oh, you also get to choose the candidates for Pony Voting or become the assistant host, I haven't decided which yet. More prizes will be announced during the tournament, like if you're a quarterfinalist or in the Final 6.

This tournament sure seems epic, doesn't it? But we need competitors, and badly! Come on, don't be shy. Sign up! It doesn't matter if you don't have the time for a long fanfic, you can probably pump 250 words out in an hour easily. Even if you hate writing, give it a shot. I hated writing in third grade, and now look how I've turned out! Writing is great!

The first topic is apples! Write a fanfic about apples, then submit it at Fanfiction Tournament Submissions. Submissions are crucial, otherwise, you don't compete! They are very important, since that is where you turn your stories in. The deadline is when there is enough people. Ask any questions in the comments!

So enjoy your 1,000 edit gifts, look out for Pony Voting 6 around August 1st, 2013, and type in the comments that you want to compete in the Fanfiction Tournament! This has been Meester Tweester, and goodnight, Ponyville!
