Hello! im Tuckyd and admin on the Gravity Falls wiki, EvergreenFir told me about your image control and we would like to be able to implement that on our wiki! Would you please tell me how you do it! Thank you, Tuckyd
I'm assuming you had a discussion on on your wiki. I don't know how things run on your wiki, but just contact Wikia, and they'll create a group with the specific user rights tailored to that group, plus they can call it whatever the community voted on (so in case you don't want to use "Image Control" or "Custodian"), or however things are decided over there. If you want a group with the same rights that the group has here, it needs the "movefile" user right, the "noratelimit" user right, and the "suppressredirect" user right. Also, if you want, you can give them the right to delete pictures as well; however, the "delete" user right applies to all namespaces, so if you don't want them to be able to delete pages from any namespace, you're going to want to copy over our Abuse Filter #4. I don't know if non-admins can see the abuse filters, so if you want, I could copy over the text from "Export this filter to another wiki" to here. -- This isJonny Manz, signingoff! 19:06, August 4, 2012 (UTC)
Hi I'm from the [Icarus Wiki]. Were you the one who made the code for the dual themed chat? If so can you help me with doing it on my wiki. I tried typing in the codes you had on your Chat.css; Chat.js; and Chat.js/load.js. I then typed in custom settings for my wiki but it doesn't work. I took out the part that made the chat moderator icon change depending on the time but everything else is there. Can you check it and then tell me what I did wrong, or I could give you admin rights for a little while so you can edit it yourself. It would be very helpful if you could do this for my wiki.--Captain Comet (talk) 12:37, August 7, 2012 (UTC)
Responded on your wiki. FoodFoodbandlt 10:26, August 8, 2012 (UTC)
Could you (or another admin) please edit this blog post and replace the redlinked image at the top with this one? I am being prevented by the excessive capitalization abuse filter, heh. I even had a nice edit summary typed up, though I assume it's too long: "eww jpg, I'll be replacing it eventually - it's an early episode so shouldn't be too long from now unless school tremendously gets in the way - just re-linking for now. Also "fraightening scene's in grafic" [caps removed]? >_>" Anyway, that's assuming admins are allowed to bypass the filters :P. Thanks, ~Bobogoobo (talk) 05:46, August 8, 2012 (UTC)
Yeah, admins are also subject to the abuse filter. We should add an exception for that... I've renamed your image and removed the capitalization. Apparently it thought that any capitalization was excessive on that blog, hah. FoodFoodbandlt 10:21, August 8, 2012 (UTC)
Unfortunately, ?limit=x still isn't working on my RC page, so it looks like I'll just have to use the normal RC page all the time. Do you know of any way to make all the collapsible things automatically uncollapsed when the page is loaded? It's pretty dumb that they do that, especially now that sometimes clicking on one just takes you to the top of the page. Hopefully a fix would be able to include the usual Wikia half-assed fix for grouped article comments. Thanks for any help, I wish I were better with JS. ~Bobogoobo (talk) 21:00, August 10, 2012 (UTC)
I'll look into it over the next few days, just finishing some things up at the moment. FoodFoodbandlt 21:28, August 10, 2012 (UTC)
There seemed to be agreement on Forum:"The Wonderbolts" article name that The Wonderbolts (and by extension List of Wonderbolts) should be renamed to match the most official spelling, but the forum has since been archived and the {{move}} template removed from both articles, without any renaming. Is there any reason that the articles weren't renamed? 76.9.91.170 20:51, August 13, 2012 (UTC)

Fluttershy: Oh, I've never seen a baby dragon before. He's sooo cute!
Spike: Well, well, well...!
Fluttershy: Oh my, he talks. I didn't know dragons could talk. That's just so incredibly wonderful I, I just don't even know what to say!
Twilight Sparkle: Well, in that case we'd better be going.
Fluttershy: Wait, wait! What's his name?
Spike: I'm Spike.
Fluttershy: Hi Spike, I'm Fluttershy. Wow, a talking dragon! And what do dragons talk about?
Spike: Well, what do you wanna know?
Fluttershy: Absolutely everything.
Twilight Sparkle: [groans]
Spike: Well... I started out as a cute little purple and green egg...
Spike: ...and that's the story of my whole entire life! Well, up until today. Do you wanna hear about today?
Fluttershy: Oh, yes, please!
Spike: Gyah!
Twilight Sparkle: I am so sorry, how did we get here so fast? This is where I'm staying while in Ponyville and my poor baby dragon needs his sleep.
They do indeed refer to him as a "baby dragon". Them referring to Spike as a "baby dragon" in the show therefore makes him a baby dragon. There is nothing incorrect about calling him a baby dragon, and therefore no reason to undo the previous edit. In the future, please do not undo previous edits until the discussion about it is resolved. Thanks! FoodFoodbandlt 01:11, August 17, 2012 (UTC)
He is a baby dragon, and that is a fact, so this conversation is therefore pointless. Bluesir 01:22, August 17, 2012 (UTC)
thats right ! i am with you in this case ,they said that he is a baby draon only becuase their are dragons bigger in part 1 too ! i have a picture for baby cute spike , he is so much younger than now !!!!!!! —Preceding unsigned comment added by Pinkiepie444 (talk • contribs)
I assume the picture that you have is fanmade, in which case cannot be used in the main namespace of this wiki. FoodFoodbandlt 06:19, August 18, 2012 (UTC)

Hello, my name is RandomRock from the Nickelodeon Wiki. I can see you are very good with MediaWiki and such, and possibly can you add the mini-editor (the editor used on comments) on the chat. The Nickelodeon Wiki might use it.
Without support in the core coding of the chat to support message editing, I'm afraid that's near impossible. It would be too much work and effort to achieve than it is worth in the end. I'm sorry. FoodFoodbandlt 03:31, August 18, 2012 (UTC)
Hi, I'm Madnessfan34537 from the Call of Duty Wiki. I was looking through the Archived Forums on here, and saw a Forum about giving Chat Moderators the ability to add Emoticons. I was going to open a Forum on the Call of Duty Wiki about the same thing, as I love the idea. I just want to check with you to see if the script works, and stuff like that. -- Madnessfan34537Talk
If you've found the forum, then I'm sure you've also read the forum. There is a security risk with the method used to only allow chat mods and admins with a major vulnerability. Yes, the page would be patrolled like any other page on Recent Changes, but it is a vulnerability nonetheless. I need to rework it some day when I have time using a different method, but at this moment I don't have much time. FoodFoodbandlt 03:21, August 20, 2012 (UTC)
Your so cool ~ Gigipony
Sir, forgive my computer for the bad formatting issues. It tends to do strange things. However, I would like to inform you that I feel I have been permabanned from the chat under false pretenses by Bluesir. I do not mean any disrespect to him. However, as you know, we personally discussed the topic, and therefore, I don't believe this was done with your knowledge. If you could, I would most likely respect it if you could contact Bluesir. Not for the sake of interrogation, but to find out of my appeal could be met, and that I could be unbanned. I highly appreciate your input.
At this point, I ask that you take it to the forums. That way the discussion will be recorded and can be seen by everyone. FoodFoodbandlt 10:04, August 28, 2012 (UTC)
Thank you for removing the defunct page :) Can I delete my own pages if I think they're no longer useful? If so, how? Steph physarum (talk) 10:38, August 30, 2012 (UTC)
Deleting pages is a right only available to administrators (and Image Control for files). If you need a page deleted, you will need to ask an administrator on their talk page, or mark it with the {{delete}} template and it will be deleted when an administrator looks at Category:Candidates for deletion. FoodFoodbandlt 10:41, August 30, 2012 (UTC)
Shouldn't the category include the "The"? There's still some usage ambiguity, but that at least seems more correct. I believe it was Category:The Wonderbolts before the other move. ~Bobogoobo (talk) 05:02, September 3, 2012 (UTC)
Was it? Not sure what my reasoning was when I did it, I honestly suddenly don't remember, hah. I'll change it then. FoodFoodbandlt 05:04, September 3, 2012 (UTC)
Food, you have brought us the good news! Now the Princess Celestia's aerial acrobatic ponies group have the new official name at MLP Wikia. That reply from Hasbro you uploaded shows that their group should be called The Wonderbolts. I wish they could thank you personally but they are busy practicing their tricks.
The photo "AppleBloom ArentYouGoingToStayForBrunch.png(cropped).png" is actually very similar, and possibly a duplicate of the original image used for the same page it was posted in. (っ◕‿◕)っ ♥☂ᗩᒪḰ℃◎ᾔ⊥ґї♭ṧ€∂ї☂¢øυᾔт 22:28, September 13, 2012 (UTC)
Could you please delete both versions of that file? I hadn't caught the typo in the filename. Thanks in advance.
Please don't delete mine, though. I shrunk it from it's original size because as the "profile picture", it doesn't need to be any bigger than it is; the page will also load faster because the new image is smaller and takes up much less space.
Sorry, deleted it before I saw this. The size difference is relatively negligible, I believe, and the other image is nearly twice the size in terms of pixels, so I think it's better. ~Bobogoobo (talk) 23:25, September 13, 2012 (UTC)
Personally, I prefer that Apple_Bloom_asking_Twilight_to_stay_for_brunch.png be the image because it's Apple Bloom's most memorable moment.
In truth, whether you use a big or small image as a profile picture, the load time is exactly the same. Because of the systems Wikis uses, their servers shrink the image on their side before the image is served to you. No matter how big the source image is, you'll always be served a 250px image. (example) FoodFoodbandlt 00:20, September 14, 2012 (UTC)
It will be resized to the requested dimensions, making the file size the same no matter how large the original image is. FoodFoodbandlt 00:35, September 14, 2012 (UTC)
Just wondering, are you still using said page? If not, it would be best to delete it so that, for example, images don't have to be replaced in two places. ~Bobogoobo (talk) 22:11, September 14, 2012 (UTC)
I suppose not, I just used it to fix the List of ponies page before we disabled visual editing is all. I've deleted it. FoodFoodbandlt 02:53, September 15, 2012 (UTC)
When Bobogoobo said that he still can`t see the image, I had an idea that he has a anti-banner software. I did not add it because I though that he uses it for all browsers and not just FireFox. It was before he said that the image is visible in another browsers. I forgot that Firefox has it`s own Ad-blocker. Teyandee (Talk) 05:31, September 22, 2012 (UTC)
Hah, that's what I meant by you "ninja'd" me. Generally that means you said almost exactly what I was going to say right before I said it, which you did because I edit conflicted ten seconds after you replied, lol. I didn't mean anything more than you took the words right out of my mouth, or in this case, my keyboard. FoodFoodbandlt 05:34, September 22, 2012 (UTC)

I guess decodeURIComponent shouldn't be there because it isn't actually working. I described what I meant to do in my most recent post on the forum topic (not sure why it was archived). I wasn't sure how to decode stuff. ~Bobogoobo (talk) 08:49, December 15, 2012 (UTC)
Ahh. As far as I know, the URI returned in JavaScript objects isn't encoded, though. Wikia automatically decodes and redirects to the decoded URI IIRC. Good job on the coding, by the way. I never would've thought of using JavaScript to interpret the anchor to make a link to the page's history. FoodFoodbandlt 00:59, December 16, 2012 (UTC)
It has to encode the anchor or something, and when I put that in as the href directly it doesn't get decoded. The two links here do not work with it, and I assume any similar characters will break also. It looks like anchor encoding uses . instead of % (same codes though) and the function can't handle it, and I think I have an idea how to fix it now. And thanks, good to know my brain still works sometimes :P. ~Bobogoobo (talk) 03:57, December 16, 2012 (UTC)
Hooray, fixed, mostly. The problem is that decodeURIComponent returns a blank string if there's an error in it, it seems, and passing it anything with a lone % does that. So it will still not work for any file that has "." in the middle of it. Everything else is fine though. Actually, not quite, because the way I did the file extension replacements changes uppercase to lowercase. I don't really want to write out 20 replacements, and I assume the best way to do it is a loop through an array or something - if you have time, could you put that in? Assuming you get what I'm trying to do there. In fact, maybe there's a better way that would work in all cases, and that would be even better. But yeah, it should work for most cases now. Thanks again for the help. ~Bobogoobo (talk) 04:52, December 16, 2012 (UTC)
Hmm, I see what you mean... that's entirely odd, for sure. That encoding seems to be happening on Wikia's end, and it doesn't seem like it should be happening. I've asked staff about it meanwhile, and once I get a reply I'll think about the best way to accomplish what we're trying to do. Thanks! FoodFoodbandlt 12:46, December 16, 2012 (UTC)
Sorry to bother you about JS again, but I have a relatively simple one and I'm not sure why it's not working. I was trying to change the chat page title since I noticed it had some wikilinks and stuff in it (and was way too long besides) and that text didn't seem to be stored in any system message. Here's what I tried on Chat.js and Common.js but didn't work either time. I left it on Common just in case it can be made to work somehow. Thanks, ~Bobogoobo (talk) 07:28, December 23, 2012 (UTC)
No worries at all, hah. I'm sorry I haven't been around much as of late, I'm trying to get things wrapped up here and there. You're code is indeed correct and works. The only issue is that Common.js is not loaded into Special:Chat. I can assume from long nights spent coding for the chat that the reason your code didn't work in MediaWiki:Chat.js is because of a really really annoying caching issue. I've removed it from MediaWiki:Common.js and added the single line back to MediaWiki:Chat.js. In Special:Chat, the additional scripts are not loaded until after the page's load event already triggers, so there's no reason to use $('document').ready();. Thanks Bobogoobo! FoodFoodbandlt 01:21, December 24, 2012 (UTC)
Aha, okay. I forgot about the caching delay the first time, guess I should've waited longer or tried a different browser. I don't usually use chat anyway, just went in once and felt compelled to fix it as usual :P. Thanks! ~Bobogoobo (talk) 07:00, December 24, 2012 (UTC)
One more small (edit: not so small) request. I'm not familiar with how MediaWiki:Common.js/userRightsIcons.js works and I don't want to break it, but I want to add something: a link to contribs on a "banned from chat" tag to help people know why they've been banned (hopefully). The variable should look like this, I believe (probably need to do a replace for spaces to underscores in wgTitle, or use wgPageName and take out the "User:"):
var chatBan = "<a href='http://mlp.wikia.com/wiki/Special:Contributions/" + wgTitle + "'><span style='color:white'>Banned from chat</span></a>";
Could you add that, please? Also, I'm pretty sure the hrefs only need to start at "/wiki/" but meh. Thanks! ~Bobogoobo (talk) 09:40, December 28, 2012 (UTC)
Actually, I looked at it a bit more and it looks like you'd need somehow to see if <span class="tag">Banned From Chat</span> exists, and if so, add that user to the dictionary (I assume that's what {} means as in Python). I'm not really sure how to do that, but if you don't have time I can do more research. Unless I'm just overthinking this, heh. ~Bobogoobo (talk) 10:14, December 28, 2012 (UTC)
It would be a conditional statement that checks if there is a tag whose html is "BANNED FROM CHAT", and if so, wrap span.tag inside of an anchor element. I'll take a look when I get home from work. FoodFoodbandlt 21:33, December 28, 2012 (UTC)
Okie doke, its done. FoodFoodbandlt 23:39, December 28, 2012 (UTC)
Ah, interesting. Looks like I need to learn some more. Thanks again! ~Bobogoobo (talk) 00:52, December 29, 2012 (UTC)
I want to apologize for my hasty posting of my latest post, and would would like to politely ask if you would remove it for me. I don't like causing problems, and I feel this one might and has.
I also don't believe in unnecessary posts. Sorry if I caused a problem. Thanks for your comments and help.
No worries, and I'm sorry if my comment caused an issue for you. The blog has been removed. FoodFoodbandlt 05:48, January 13, 2013 (UTC)
Really, It wasn't your comment. but that the post itself was uneccessary, as I did it without thinking first. one other question, the post still shows up on my blog list, shouldn't that change when one is deleted? It has with the others.RM aka Lightning Dash (talk) 06:20, January 13, 2013 (UTC)
It's probably cached by Wikia like everything else. It starts to get annoying after a while, hah. It will update on it's own in the next few days at the most. FoodFoodbandlt 06:24, January 13, 2013 (UTC)
I'm wondering if you could help me polish up some JS once again. I tried to write some code that splits the Table of Contents into three columns, but it doesn't seem to be working: see the last section of User:Bobogoobo/wikia.js (if you want to test it, you may want to choose a smaller page :P. Though note that only level-2 headings will exist on the one it's for, so it doesn't need to handle level-3 or smaller.). Can it be fixed, or is my method fundamentally flawed? Do I need to do what I described at the bottom? There was some CSS that did something similar but it didn't look quite as good as altering the source can. Thanks! ~Bobogoobo (talk) 10:04, January 24, 2013 (UTC)
The method that you decided to use is extremely sound, and I'll admit, I never thought about doing it that way. The two lines near the end are trying to edit the HTML of an array, though, of which an array has no innerHTML node. I'll take a look at it when I return from work today, great job thus far! FoodFoodbandlt 11:12, January 24, 2013 (UTC)
Is this what you had in mind? I haven't tested it on multi-level, although it should theoretically work (it may split the level two links into a second column, but that's easily fixable if it happens). Let me know how it works for you and of any changes that you feel are needed, although I'm sure you can perform them yourself seeing how far you got on this script. I'd also like to admit me being wrong about the innerHTML part above. I didn't realize that toArray() actually kept them intact as DOM Elements. FoodFoodbandlt 22:27, January 24, 2013 (UTC)
Looks good to me! I'm not really sure what all the stuff you added does, but I'm curious, why does tdToAppend need three nested tables? And yeah, I was happy to find that even changing something in the array applied it to the source. As for implementing this for all users, do you think maybe the containing if statement could be changed to apply if the page's TOC's parent has a certain class, say "toc-multicol"? That way we could put it in the common JS and put some simple code on any page to apply it. ~Bobogoobo (talk) 01:19, January 25, 2013 (UTC)
That is a direct emulation of Wikia's coding. I didn't want me changing anything small to affect the entire thing from working, but feel free to change it up and see if there's any positive or negative impact on the page. The simplest thing that comes to mind concerning your last question is putting an anchor on the page with the id "toc-multicol" and style="display: none;", and changing the if statement to if (document.getElementById("toc-multicol").length != 0){ . The anchor can even be put into and easy-to-use template that transcludes it. FoodFoodbandlt 01:58, January 25, 2013 (UTC)
Eh, I wouldn't know how to avoid breaking it, it's fine as is. What about something like if ($(".toc-multicol #toc").size() != 0) { ? (I'm thinking the code on the page would be <div class="toc-multicol">__TOC__</div> which I think is simple enough not to need a template.) ~Bobogoobo (talk) 02:18, January 25, 2013 (UTC)
That would work in the same way, and it's good to see that the div doesn't negatively affect the placement of the TOC. The only thing that I was trying to avoid was containing the TOC inside of something, as that would require that it's declared on the page with __TOC__. Using an anchor, it's a standalone tag that doesn't need to be wrapped around anything. My reasons for that are entirely personal, it really makes no difference on what method you choose. FoodFoodbandlt 02:28, January 25, 2013 (UTC)
Oh, I see. I don't really like putting hidden things as much, and using the behavior switch wouldn't really require a template, which is also nice. I'll use my method for now, but it can of course be changed later. I'm not really expecting this to be used much anyway, but it's handy to have around and for future reference. Thanks as always for all your help! ~Bobogoobo (talk) 02:58, January 25, 2013 (UTC)
Yep yep, no worries! Feel free to ask about anything in the future. FoodFoodbandlt 03:01, January 25, 2013 (UTC)
I don't think we finished this, the CSS I did (see bottom of here) doesn't work. But anyway, I'm here because once again I tried something and must've done some little thing wrong but I'm not sure what it is. Here's what I did, if you're bored :P. ~Bobogoobo (talk) 09:22, February 12, 2013 (UTC)
Ah, sorry, I completely forgot about that! Thanks for reminding me. I've thought of an easy way to do it stemming off of the method that you tried, and I'll try to look at it by tomorrow or the next day. FoodFoodbandlt 02:08, February 13, 2013 (UTC)

That title is based on the in-universe (or fandom universe in this case) spelling of "Main Six". This wiki is also against the use of disambiguation pages whenever possible. The group of main characters is not referred to the "Main Six" in the show, and if people are coming here searching the main characters, they are more likely to search for them by name rather than "Mane Six". FoodFoodbandlt 00:42, January 30, 2013 (UTC)

I just wanted to thank you once again for helping me out when someone was asking me for personal information. You really showed a great deal of leadership the way you banned that user who's name I will not say due to privacy sake. You helped me solve most of the problem except that we blocked the wrong person. The one we blocked was the one that did the offense but the mastermind of the plan to get me globally banned was the idea of someone else who has a large role in this wiki.
But there has not been any trouble or aftermath of that problem so I thank you for your help. You truly are doing your job properly as an admin.
P.S. I want to catch up with you on chat one time cause I have not spoken to you in a while and I wanted to know what you thought of the season finale.

I don't know how to leave comments about why I made a certain edit... if you could tell me how to do that it would be helpful. I changed the gallery picture because that same image is already used elsewhere on the page, literally a few paragraphs up, regarding her transformation. If you want to keep it the same, then you need to change the other picture, it looks rediculous with the same picture twice.
Additionally, I chose the new picture, because it looks like a photograph anyways, with all the ponies in their own spotlights... and the episode was a musical.
Right in the summary box. I agree with you, maybe we can still find a more representative image but it should be one that isn't already used on the page. ~Bobogoobo (talk) 05:03, March 17, 2013 (UTC)
I'm sorry, I didn't realize that the image was used elsewhere on the page. I liked the old image better because it looked better scaled-down, and you could better make out what was going on. Depending on whether you have the sidebar expanded or not on the edit page, the summary box can be in the upper-right or the very top of the page. FoodFoodbandlt 05:10, March 17, 2013 (UTC)
Thanks for the explanation of the summary box. I mostly comment, but I've been dabbling with edits here and there when I see something that doesn't look right, and its still relatively new to me.
Why did you do that? The purpose of Unwritten Rules was to discuss exactly that - rules that were in place but not in the list of policies and guidelines. Now there's a template on Forum:Chat_rules to merge, when each forum has its own separate purpose? AppleJon-Talk 02:13, March 23, 2013 (UTC)
For some reason Imagecontrol cannot rename images anymore. It says we don't have permission to move images. Khaos is having the same problem. Help us? The Americanized Brony13:31, May 11, 2013 (UTC)
I've emailed Staff regarding the issue. This is a result of this forum to restrict page move rights to administrators. Apparently you not only need "movefile" but you also need "move" to move files. It should be handled soon. FoodFoodbandlt 17:02, May 11, 2013 (UTC)
Hey Foodbandit..this might seem like an odd request, but I would like to be blocked from the wiki until the 15 (aka tomorrow). As you might know, I'm not too fond of EG and...other events that happened, and I don't want to have the ability to possibly say something outlandish if I see a comment that upsets me on it. So what I want to do is have a day to calm down and take a short wiki break, and getting blocked will be a good incentive to stay off.
So, when you get this message please block the user and IP adress until May 15 or a period of one day. Thanks.
I found a bug. The move/replace or queue does not pick up files starting like ":File:Blablabla". Thanks, MuudTalk to me! | Edits! Contributions! 21:26, May 14, 2013 (UTC)
One of the biggest place that has those is Forum:List of non-720p images and another one with ~1000 links that are like that. It would be a cool feature, and hopefully you can make it, getting tired updating that forum! Lol! :P Thanks, MuudTalk to me! | Edits! Contributions! 23:04, May 14, 2013 (UTC)
I don't think you can make a DPL of duplicate (or close) pictures. But for the forums, ok! MuudTalk to me! | Edits! Contributions! 23:09, May 14, 2013 (UTC)
Oh, cool then! If I get yelled at for letting red links on those 2 pages, I'm blaming you! :P MuudTalk to me! | Edits! Contributions! 23:12, May 14, 2013 (UTC)
Last question, is there a max number of files moves or pages to edit in the queue option? MuudTalk to me! | Edits! Contributions! 23:24, May 14, 2013 (UTC)
Hey I just want to say some guy named Ghhghgh-BOT is deleting pages and having them blank. This needs to be dealt with as he/she is deleting information of wiki pages. First victims are Shining Armor and Diamond Dogs.
I can't thank you enough for pointing this out. THANK YOU! FoodFoodbandlt 05:42, May 16, 2013 (UTC)
No problem. Though it does suck that two whole pages got wiped :/. I'll try to help as best I can (unless its somehow in the logs) but that was a lot of work that got destroyed.
No no, it's definitely a bad bot. I'm sorry, I just realized how unintentionally sarcastic that last message came off as. I'll have VSTF do a mass rollback of the edits. Thanks a lot for pointing this out to me :D FoodFoodbandlt 05:52, May 16, 2013 (UTC)
